About

I set up this site to keep an overview on a very exciting development in cinematography: the convergence of digital SLR cameras and cinema-quality moving-image cameras into HD video capable digital SLR cameras, or in short: HDSLR cinema.

My background is in digital cinema, I’ve been working in this domain since 2006. I was very thrilled when I heard that the RED camera was being developed, and even more when Nikon, Canon and the others started putting HD video inside SLR cameras. I remember seeing Vincent Laforet’s “Reverie” (Oct 2008) and realizing the game had been changed.

My name is Peter Forret and you can contact me on peter@hdslr-cinema.com .

  • Hi!
    I love your blog.
I recently directed a book trailer for my wife’s novel, YOU ARE NEXT, using my Canon 7D (except for two flashback shots that were shots on a toy Harinezumi camera).
I would love it, if you would take a look.

    I hope you like it.
Thanks again for your wonderful blog.

    Best,

  • Hi HDSLR cinema-

My name is Jeremy, and I am writing to tell you about an awesome new product designed by myself and the Revolve team- it is called the Revolve camera dolly; it is a portable, versatile, and affordable camera dolly system. It allows anyone with a video camera (camcorders, DSLR’s, iphones, etc.) to achieve smooth, dynamic, cinematic video easily and in a package they can actually afford! Last week I launched a Kickstarter campaign to fund the manufacturing of this product in order to make it available to the video community. The project has gotten decent organic support from Kickstarter users, and I am looking to make more people aware!

I am writing in hopes that you would be willing to consider posting an article about the Revolve dolly and it’s ongoing Kicksarter campaign. It is a project that I am very passionate about, and one that I believe will benefit video users and photographers, and be of interest to your website visitors. I would be incredibly grateful for any exposure that this project receives.

Below are links to the Kickstarter campaign, as well as the Revolve website. Both are full of information and images which you are free to use.

If you have any questions, or need any more information or media please feel free to contact me back. I thank you for your time, and I hope you are willing to help me make this project successful!
